2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee at Victorville Motors

The Jeep Grand Cherokee is a mainstay of the American experience at this point and does not disappoint in the 2020 incarnation. There are many new highlights, and these are on top of the already full extent of the vehicle's offerings. For instance, the Laredo model gets the Jeep Active Safety Group, a collection that establishes both Advanced Brake Assist and LaneSense Lane Departure Warning-Plus, among some similar items. The Overland model looks amazing in a fresh Dark Sienna & Black interior style, while the Summit models rise to meet the challenge with their own Light Frost & Brown cabin color pairing. A Premium Lighting Group lights the path ahead brightly with Daytime Running Lights, LED fog-lamps, HID headlights, and self-operating high-beams. Then, as if that's not enough new stuff, the Trailhawk & Limited models acquire a standard one-pane sunroof! Let's take a moment and go through all that this vehicle can offer you!

Can you get into the engine possibilities for the Grand Cherokee in 2020?

The SRT model, not to toot its own horn, has a strong 6.4-L V-8 engine that fires off 475-hp and whirls 470 lb-ft of torque. The Trackhawk model somehow is ready to answer that back with a 6.2L supercharged V-8 engine that accomplishes 707-hp and 645 lb-ft of torque! The Grand Cherokee is nowhere close to done though, with a discretionary 5.7L V-8 engine that pours out 360-horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque, and is able to tow up to 7,200-lbs! The 3.6-L Pentastar V-6 engine generally found inside as standard and achieves 295-hp and 260 lb-ft of torque, and which tows up to 6,200-lbs!

Can you describe some interesting points about each model?

There are seven models in total: the Laredo, Limited, Trailhawk, Overland, Summit, SRT, and Trackhawk. Let's take a moment and go through the momentous offerings within all of these choices! The Laredo model gets in the mix with a 2-zone auto temp control, rear parking sensors, Android Auto/Apple CarPlay compatibility for smartphones. It also has 17" aluminum-alloy wheels painted silver with a chrome center cap as well as a Uconnect 4 featuring a 7" touchscreen. The Limited model has a Quadra-Trac II 4x4 system, a 1-pane sunroof, an 8.4" touchscreen standard for the Uconnect 4C NAV, heated leather seating, a remote engine start, and a decision for the New Premium Lighting Group. It further installs seating/steering wheel & shifter in leather, standard 18" polished aluminum wheels with gray accents, and a power liftgate. The Trailhawk has gloss black roof rails, a crawl ratio of 44.1:1, 18" all-terrain off-road tires, the Quadra-Trac II 4WD system with Rear Electronic Limited-Slip Differential, dual red tow hooks up front, low-range gearing, and Quadra-Lift adjustable air suspension! Inside, it really dresses up with red accent stitching on the black leather-trimmed seats with suede inserts and makes navigation that much easier with 3-D graphics, SiriusXM Traffic Plus! The Overland model opens up more than conversation with a standard CommandView Dual-Pane Panoramic Sunroof! This one permits an interior with a Dark Sienna & Black interior, an invigorated instrument cluster design, heated & ventilated front seats, and an available 19-speaker Harman Kardon Premium Audio System. Also cool, this one can elevate the ground clearance up to 10.8 inches or lower it 1.6 inches with the push of a button via the Quadra-Lift Air Suspension. The Summit model allows premium Laguna leather-trimmed seating, an automatic-parking system, active noise-cancel tech, a new available black roof, a Harman Kardon audio system with a 10-inch subwoofer, illuminated sills, and the Advanced Active Safety Group. Fun fact: The SRT model goes 160-mph. It then adds on to that fiery legacy with times like 0-60 mph in 4.3 seconds and a quarter-mile in 12.8 seconds! The SRT model certainly makes sure you are paying attention to its 475-horsepower, flat-bottom steering wheel, available red seatbelts, and yet has a standard Launch Control to assist all drivers. It flourishes further with a sport body kit, run-flat tires, a limited-slip rear differential, summer performance tires, and an All-Wheel Drive system calibrated for high-performance. Cue chilling movie sound effect noise - the Trackhawk emerges from the shadows to tear down any track you put in front of it! With a quarter-mile time of 11.6 seconds, this SUV doesn't realize it's not technically a jet fighter. It has an augmented adaptive suspension, and sturdy Brembo brakes! High-performance tires are wrapped around 20-inch Titanium Aluminum wheels, and this only makes its incredible top speed of 180-mph more possible! For those keeping score, the Trackhawk can do 0-60 mph in 3.5 seconds. Whoa!

Tell me more about the built-in safety and security of this vehicle.

There are seven standard airbags and a high-strength steel frame! kicking things off right is the standard ProTech I Package with its ParkSense Rear Park Assist, a ParkView Rear Back-Up Camera, and Blind Spot Monitoring with Rear Cross Path Detection! There are a ton of other safety features both available and standard in both the ProTech II Package and the Advanced ProTech II Package, like Keyless Enter 'n Go, Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking, Advanced Brake Assist, Parallel and Perpendicular Park Assist, LaneSense Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, and Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking!
